Just a quick question to satisfy my curiosity. Since I joined the forum a couple of months ago, the photo banner at the head of each page was of 3 cars abreast on a gravel driveway, with the convertible at the right hand end.
However, when I logged on from home (rather than the office) for the first time a couple of weeks ago, the banner was a montage of photos comprising of a long row of cars on the left, a car nose on in the shrubbery in the centre and a dark Coupe in profile on the right.
This is how it remained until just now when the office banner changed to the latter version between viewings.
Why is this? Just technically curious.
I had originally assumed that the cookie living on my office computer stored the banner and so the home cookie was a later version of the site, but it would now seem that this isn't the case.
I'm not losing any sleep over it, but a formal explanation on good quality bond letterhead from management bearing the P5 Club watermark by airmail lodged with Royal Mail at close of business today would be most welcome.

Well hopefully, with the difference in our timelines, you got this before the end of business today. Phil is right, the banner is changed every few months. The aim is a bit like an under arm deoderant - trying to keep the site fresh ;D

Amazing! Must be the time zone differences. I received your answers before I sent the question! Thanks.
But you misunderstood me. I understand that you change it from time to time. What I don't understand is why it changed on one computer and not the other, and when it did change on that machine (weeks after the first one), it did so between visits on the same day while I remained logged in. As I said; no big deal......just curious.
If the answer is...."B****red if I know", I won't be demanding my money back.

I am guessing that your computer had logged the old banner as a 'cookie'. It was updated depending on your softwares default setting. As I said it's only a guess

Thanks. (At least it wasn't aliens, MI6 or Torchwood).

It being the 50th, perhaps it's time to get some nice old Mk.1s on the banner.

I originally thought it might be going to be a retro job, but it's a new car. Only a hint of the old Nagari at the nose and rear roofline. 0 - 60mph in 4 sec.
But I can't afford the $250,000 needed. Hamish was rapt though. He got Campbell Bolwell's autograph on a brochure and got to sit in it wearing his "I am the Stig" T-shirt.
