Hi all, As adviced, I've searched in 'subject' for paint code, and found three 'whites':
DOVER WHITE ICI code for Dover White P030-3274. White 86%, Reduced Yellow Oxide 7%, Reduced Black 7%, (A trace of Reduced Turkey Red Oxide may be required). ICI code for base colours White - P030-9901 Reduced Yellow Oxide - P062-9911 Reduced Black - P062-9929 Reduced Turkey Red Oxide - P062-9915
WHITE (1) ICI code for White(1) P030-3525. White 93%, Reduced Yellow Oxide 4%, Reduced Black 3%. (Traces of Reduced Turkey Red Oxide may be required in White (1). ICI code for base colours White - P030-9901 Reduced Yellow Oxide - P062-9911 Reduced Black - P062-9929 Reduced Turkey Red Oxide - P062-9915
IVORY ICI code for Ivory P030-3427. White 94%, Reduced Yellow Oxide 4%, Reduced Black 1%, Reduced Fast Yellow 1%. ICI code for base colours White - P030-9901 Reduced Yellow Oxide - P062-9911 Reduced Black - P062-9929 Reduced Fast Yellow - P062-9970
But i don't find a description for Rover White though... Is this similar to 'White" as described above? Thanks!

I may well be corrected on this but I think Rover White applies to much later cars, and from memory, that colour was used on Metros. Unfortunately I no longer have a can that I used on them. James Taylors book on the P5 history should confirm this.

Rover White is a P5B colour per JT but its not the same as the later Rover white. I have a full list of mixes somewhere but cannot find it

Getting paints mixed up without matching to the car is very dodgy. Its highly unlikely that you'll get anywhere near the correct colour. You need to go to someone who'll match the paint to the exisitng bodywork which allows for fading and in the case of white, a slight yellowing. Can't help you on finding someone in your area though. Maybe its a thought that these people should be added to the 'Main' Rover site in 'List of Services' as and when we come across them and can recommend them so that others can access their details. I certainly can in my area and most of our local members use him.

I agree with DF even if you can get the correct shade mixed up they will have to be tinted to give an exact match and few bodyshops have the knowllege or eye to do this properly.
This was the standard way up to the mid 70's and I still do it to get a better match
