Today was a big day for me, as I got my P5B through Danish MoT without any comments. You can see it at: roedmose.tripod.com/roverp5b/albumindex1.html Now I can start planning a summertrip to UK with the family, but before we go, we will get some miles done to discover any faults. The car has been standing since '98 ans is fairly original as to the mechanic side of things. Before we go I will replace items that normally is doubtful after standing still, but I wonder if anyone has any idea of what I should look after besides : Exhaust Brakehoses (calibers and cylinders are rebuild) wheelbearings shockabsorbers What about fuellines ? Are there rubbers tubes anywhere than in the enginebay ? And is a new waterpump "normal procedure" ? Any hint from others would be received with thanks !

The fuel lines should be OK but all the coolant hoses including those under the floor should be very carefully checked.
The shockabsorbers are long lasting so unless you feel the ride is particularly soggy I would leave them alone as also the wheel bearings which may only need regreasing and adjusting.
The waterpump will only require relacing if noisy of if there is more than slight play in the fan
