I finally got to drive my Saloon for the first time ;D With the muffler resembling a cheese grater, she sound pretty rough but oh what a ride I didnt go to far (still unregistered) as I only wanted to test out the auto - (which went pretty well). However I now have an oil leak that may do texas out of business! ...it can be seen dripping from the lowest part of the power steering pump only when the engine is warm and running, only I dont think it's from the pump since the oil is very very black (darker than whats seen on the dipstick) and does not look like power steering fliud (I've got enough of that leaking from the PS box so I know what that looks like!). I'm having trouble tracking it down. The fuel pump is immediately above it however it appears to be OK. Any help appreciated, Cheers, Taz

Its the fuel pump oil seal thats failed - when worn it actually pumps oil into the bottom chamber which then drips out of the pinhole breather
Repair kits often do not include it. Convert to electric. If electric anyway has the old pump been removed or otherwise timing cover leak either to pump body or pulley?

Phil, Is there any special reason why you opted for a Facet fuel pump? Capacity maybe? I already have one on my camper trailer and d**n - it's loud!
Any idea what is the minimum required fuel delivery rate?
I can source the universal Facet unit but I think they have a fairly poor delivery rate.

They are more than adequate capacacity, 99% reliable readily available and will mount at the front - they are noisy especially if mounted at the back but they can only be heard at idling.
The Holdens site gives fuel delivery rates - underdeleivery causes many problems here with vaopristation etc
