HI all i have just replaced my sump gaskit on my p5b gearbox and two of the bolts will not tighten up i think the threads have gone is there any one that can help

Ensure the setscrews have good threads and then wrap one turn of masking tape round -this may work. They do not need to be too tight anyway
As a last resort try a course 6mm self tapping type set screw used on modern car wings.
I do not think the flange is wide enough to take a larger diameter screw or helicoil and doubt that using metal putty will work as its virtually impossible to clean away oil residues

I think you should be able to put a thin bolt through. If I remember they should only be done up to 8 lb.ft which is not very tight. Otherwise the gasket will spread. Only use TQF fluid, readilly available in Halfords.
