Hi, I´ve a question: My power steering box leaks and there is sometimes al loss of power. I think after reading in this forum, I´m going to buy one from wadhams on exchange which seems to be a very good solution for the problem. What else should I change when working on it anyway ? I heard the filter needs replacement from time to time. Maybe any other things ? Seals ? Thanks for your help ! I own the old lady since may this year and still have to learn a lot Kai-Uwe from Germany

Leave seals if not leaking but ensure the rubber boots on ALL the ball joints are good.
The filter only needs changing once in a blue moon but definitely when the box is renewed

I had my steering box replaced and filter. If you opt for a second hand box you are taking a chance. I did it, and the bloody thing leaked like a sieve. I therfore (once again!!) dug deep and bought a replacement unit from Wadhams.

I took a chance with a 2nd hand box, won it for £20.57 from ebay, fitted it on and result no leaks ;D so you can be lucky just depends if you want the extra hassle having to take it all apart again if it doesn't

I usually try that route first - at least it gives some breathing space and one available for exchange
