Hi all,
Had a great weekend racking up my first miles in the P5B with very few niggles. Amazed at how easily she cruises at 70.
The only problem I've experienced is when travelling in drive and the engine / gearbox is cold, the car sometimes pops out of gear for a couple of seconds until I increase the revs and it re-engages - usually with a bit of a jolt. This is only happening when cold, I haven't checked the transmission oil yet- I suspect this is the most likely cause. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
My second question is regarding the backbox / tailpipe. What would originally have been fitted? I have got a fairly small single pipe which doesn't seem big enough for the V8 as the engine almost sounds muffled at high revs. Any suggestions on what should go there instead. I'd love a twin-pipe, has anyone fitted one?
Cheers,
Tom

Checking the fliud level is definately the way to go as a first stop because if it's low it can cause this type of problem, as things warm up the level rises slightly so the problem disappears. Check on level ground and at normal working temperature. As for the exhaust all V8's should have twin tailpipes, it's the 3litres that have a single tailpipe.
