Do you mean "whining"? If so can you give a bit more info such as road speeds and when the noise is more pronounced. Diffs usually whine after a high mileage. Could it be wheel balance?

Does sound like the diff - how many miles has it done. may pay to renew the oil use EP90.
May be a rear wheel bearing but these usually rumble, may even be the centre prop shaft bearing but then it would be equally as load in the front

When driving, try going on and of the throttle, if things get worse/better it's probably a pinion bearing, if it stays the same it could be the diff carrier bearings, (all readily available) or possibly the wheel bearings, but these normally are obvious because they get noisier when turning corners, if the noise gets worse turning right, suspect NSR (passenger in RHD) and visa versa. Somebody who knows what to listen for should be able to diagnose it no problem. Check the oil level first tho', as they do tend to leak, and see if you have excess backlash at the prop.
