Paint stripper will quickly remove the old paint - I think Wadhams sells stainless nuts

Also David Green stocks them I believe in stainless steel , so worth trying there to check out the prices. www.davidgreen-p5.co.uk/

Yes Wadhams sell both stainless nuts and chrome. I bought a set of chrome nuts just before Xmas and they really make a difference to my newly repainted 2nd hand rostyles. Cost me £40 plus VAT & p&p and I think the stainless ones were £70 or £80. They would last longer of course but I couldn't justify the extra cash (As my wife kindly pointed out!) Cheers, Richard.

No chance unless its the caustic type for stripping wooden doors - Nitromors is a nasty chemical based stuff but works very with damaging chrome or steekl but wear gloves
