Shock absorbers can probably be got new from Wadhams or Barry Kent or secondhand from David Green. They do not affect ride height though. You say P5 which is the 3 litre -these are different to the P5B or V8
It is likely to be sagging rear springs or someone as overadjusted the front torsion bars. How does it sit at the back and waht do the rear spring rubber mountings look like?
Weak shockers will cause swaying as will flattened rear springs which will need replacement

As to swaying at the front - I recall now serval years agon having this happen on two different P5's and it was not definitley not suspension caused.
It turned out to be distorted front tyres which subsequently failed. Distorted rear tyres cause the rea of the car to rock/sway as well!
In all cases the tyres were Kumo's which had good treads but unknown past history so the inner casings were probably damaged by kerbing.
I only noticed it when washing the car my hand rubbed on the tyre which had needle like steel points sticking out.
