Picture the scene if you will........... This evening I went into the garage to look for something to give to another forum member. My Rover has no bonnet fitted at the moment, and, as usual, the front wings make a handy bench. I picked something up off the wing and was examining it, when I noticed a movement in the corner of my eye within the engine bay. I looked to see what it was, but could not make it out, but after a couple of seconds I saw it move again. I then watched this effing MOUSE climb up the inner wing and disappear into the car through the hole where the bonnet release cable comes through The little illigitimate.....and probably a few more besides, are somewhere inside, probably up behind the dash. Cannot see any evidence of chewing.........yet, only a few droppings, but this is not good. I am going to have to kill them !

I have had the same problem in the past. A couple of mousetraps sorted the little bleeders out though but try and source how they are getting in.

That's the problem with those little b*****s, they can get in via the smallest of holes. Even if you decide they can't get in through that space, they will. Good luck with getting rid of them.
Just before I moved house some years ago, I knew thet somewhere in my garage there was a family of them. I used to leave a bucket three quarters full of water in there, and every other day I would find one of them floating on the water. Once in, there was no way out. On stripping out the garage, right a the back in a wooden box filled wih rags that I used for cleaning was a lovely little nest full of them. I took the squeaking mass out and emptied them on the grass. Mice were running everywhere not knowing where they were, and with all their cover blown were delicasies for the local birds and cats. Their freedom didn't last long, and needless to say the box was emptied of all rags never to be repeated. Not that I mind now as with two cats, and one a superb mouser, they always patrol all parts of the garage looking for any thing that might move.

You need to get rid of them as soon as possible, before they chew into the wiring. I knew of someone who had to have their stag rewired. I keep a mouse trap in my garage, with chocolate in it !

I thought it was only rats that chewed wiring - still those cars with the textile/rubber covering may be tasty to mice as well

I have not heard of mice chewing wiring either, and mine certainly hasnt been nibbled............yet.
I dont want them burrowing into the upholstery or sound proofing, and besides, they seem to be incontinent too........possibly like most P5 owners ?
Dont want it smelling of wee !
