After losing my temper over fitting a new kickdown cable I hit on the idea of cutting a saw slot in the end. A wide screwdriver was ground to fit and I had it screwed down in minutes. I took the opportunity to take out the larger servo and found that the ring was broken again, though I put this down to bad/non existant kickdown adjustment. Thanks to Graham I am nearly rolling again.

Kickdown adjustment is crucial to keep line pressures at the optimum levels too high will blow seals and crack servos, too low ill wear clutches and bands.
with all that will be poor gear changes and sluggish performance and/or poor petrol economy

In an emergency I used the rubber ring in the inlet manifold elbows to replace the large servo piston seal.
