hi all my first post need some advice, my fathers 1971 p5b has a leaking steering box & is due to be used as wedding car on sat 15th sept !!!! , we've got the replacement seal kit for the bottom drop arm but can't get the dam thing off is there a special tool or a nifty trick to freeing it.any advice would be greatly welcomed, onist yours Paul

There is a special tool as its really tight but a HD puller may work especially if teh drop arm eye is heated up. Make sure its marked to put it back in exactly the same position though

many thanks for your reply but my dads just informed me the leak is from power steering pump he's checked the pipes for tightness and there OK the leak seems to come from the main shaft do you know of any temp fixes many thanks

With the pump its more difficult but try some leak sealer specially for power steering systems - this works well as a temporary solution but it depends what has caused the leak.
It works by softening and expanding the rubber type seals

Hang something underneath to catch the drips for the Wedding. The last thing I'd do is start pulling bits off the car on the day before the big one.
