It is realy a delight to cruise along in my coupe. The ride quality is far superior to my modern car, nice features as for instance the adjustable armrests an the fast action window winding mechanism you do not find anymore. But one thing has become a lot better during the past 40 years. Windshield wipers. Not only are they small and on lhd cars positioned to far to the right. It is difficult to adjust the speed to requirements of modern traffic, especially as they always make that extra move to return to their resting position.
Is there a possibility to alter the wiring so they do not go back to zero every time or even a way to have an intermitting aktion?

A new rheostat might help. Forty years ago I built myself an electronic unit to adjust wiper speed on a Morris Minor, but these days I am sure you will find an aftermarket unit or a unit from another vehicle to introduce into the wiring. Try a search on Google.

The area of wipe is no better on RHD cars, and I agree the variation of the speed is either fast or slow with very little in between. Certainly more control over the speed would be great, but so would an intermittent wipe facility. I agree that there probably are electronic units available to do both functions, it's just finding them. If they are available it shouldn't be too difficult to wire them in. I believe the original pots used on these cars were wire-wound and of course over the years they become contaminated and crusty and cannot give the control you expect of them. Thank god in some ways they weren't the cheap old carbon track pots as they would have disintegrated by now .

You can alter the off screen park so that it does not do so. I really have no trouble with the set up - perhaps its a case of what you have never had etc?

Unfortunately the curved screen adds to the troubles, as you cannot get a good sweeping arc with them. It does leave large areas of unwiped glass. I wonder if it is beneficial to use RAINEX on them then you may not have to use them so often. Obviously the classic cars that have a flat screen do benefit from a better sweep but again this totally depends on where the arms come out of the scuttle.
