I just happened to join the forum last week. I have been servicing & restoring British classics for 20 years. Now I'm in oil rigs services(more money!!!!). I kept most of the specialized tools I used to use (Churchill, Lucas, Smith etc) The gauges & senders can be tested with a tester made by Smith. I would be much surprised that this tool could not be located in different areas. It was very common in its time.By the way, I have three P5B Coupés.

It would be most useful if you could list these tools, their part number, and their function. It will then be easier to see if there are any still around. Like myself I never throw anything away if I think it's likely to be useful in the future. I presume that all three of yours are fully roadworthy then.

Hi John, I will list and make photos of all the tools that I keep. Strictly Rover, I have the rear half-shaft hub bearing tool. The Smiths gauge & sender tester, not especially Rover, tests all the Smith gauges with or without stabilizer. Most of the tooling from Churchill was not strictly Rover. I am about to fly to Texas for 3 months, so I will not be able to do anything before my comeback. No, my 3 cars are not all roadworthy. One is undergoing a 3.5 EFI + ZF4HP22 conversion. One is roadworthy (I bought it in 1980).I'll join the club when I'm back.
