If anyone buys 'Classics Monthly', there is a very good article on the restoration of club member David Cole's P5B saloon.
Well done David, it should get to a wide audience on how a P5B can be brought up to spec.
Having seen it twice this year I can vouch for the restoration standard.

;D Thanks John for the message. We did the photo shoot back in May, and all it did was @~:$%^&^ rain, although it stop long enough for me too leather it down again before it rained again. Excellent article only spoilt by the picture of the ugly bloke!
Cheers
David

Nice to meet Dave on Sunday. His saloon was excellent and his RAF Saloon was interesting too. Batteries ran out on the camera otherwise I would have posted a photo of it.

Dave it was nice to meet you on Sunday I was the one asking about the radio in your car, would you like the correct boot mounted W30 Westminster to add to the "Authenticity" or have you got one there would be no charge. I used to be a service engineer with Pye in the factory so I know them from old.

I am interested in the ignition switch and hazard warning light switch.
Was this original or a later addition?

Colin
As you may be aware P5b`s from about 1971 on were fitted with an allegedly thief proof coil (although I don`t think who`d want to steal a coil!). This meant the ignition switch was moved from the instrument panel to the steering column, the empty location filled with a chromed blank.During the restoration we fitted a period Lucas push/pull hazard switch in that position.
