Welcome Tony, i no how you feel Ive been look for a nice P5 for years and have just got my first one. You will find them about but be careful and read the buyer guide from the site to make sure you know what to look for. I see you are only in Crawley? have you book yourself in for the national? its only in Horsham could be a good start.

As you are only at Horsham why not come down to the local P5 pub night. We meet at The Coach and Horses just outside Shoreham on the A259. If you come through Lancing there is a long section of dual carriageway which is 40 mph. At the end of the dc there is a large round-a-bout and the pub is on the right. We meet on the second Wednesday each month from about 8pm, and there are usually about a dozen, with some P5s

Tony, welcome to the forum. A firm piece of advice is watch what you buy, don't fall in love with the first one you see unless it is in good condition and what you require. Rust points are splash panels (under the front wings) The bulkhead behind the splash panels. All jacking points and sills. Scuttle panel (corners of the front windscreen) Inner rear wheel arch (top of the rear wing panels) Rear chassis legs where the leaf springs are and battery floor area. Lower rear panel. You can see more if you go to my website www.roverp5bduchess.co.uk Remember, look at a few first.

The problem or good thing(which ever way you look at it) with the Rover p5 is that when you first see one it can look great.I have seen them driving around Edinburgh and my jaw has dropped but when I have had a better look would not have touched. If you see one,why don't you ask the owner If you can take some pics(inside and out) and then post them on this site! That way we can all give our opinion about things that may or may not be right?I bought mine without really knowing the in's and out's without an M.O.T but I got lucky.
