Someone up there obviously likes us, because the 2008 SARR was an outstanding success, with over 100 cars enjoying bright sunshine over both days. Some 40 cars took part in the Border Rovers tour on Saturday, which started and finished at Thirlestane Castle. Entrants enjoyed the uncongested, well maintained roads of Berwickshire, and crossed into England for a (very) short while via the Union Bridge, which dates back to 1820! On Sunday the cars were formed up in front of the castle, with the usual self judging concours and Championship judging. Cairns took P5 class honours once again, in a class of over a dozen. The Wolseley Register were guests at this year's event, and fielded 15 cars, from a 1936 "New 14" through to Farinas and a Landcrab. More pics to follow, full report in future issue of Take 5 (editor permitting!)

Nice pics so far Trevor, you were certainly very lucky with the weather. Must be a first isn't it.

I think it was, I cannot remember the last time the weather was good on both days of our event. I even had a couple of calls on Friday from people wanting to switch to our event in Scotland from the rally at Bressingham due to the weather forecast. One chap that did was doubly pleased, as his trip from the Isle of Man netted "Car of the Show" for his P4! More pictures on this link: usera.imagecave.com/p5tgc/SARR2008/

Was the best rally I have been to in years. My first time for the Saturday night event but was really impressed. Also very high standard of Rovers on show, a real success for the organisers. Colin
