Hi everyone, we already have 41 Rovers prebooked for the Rally so feel free to contact me for details. Prebooking guarantees a rally attendance plaque. Typically attendance is roughly double that.
There will be a raffle, quiz and feely bag competition as well as the beautiful location and some fantastic company.
The Rally is open to ALL Rovers from 1st to last including the Land and Range variety. We also have a separate class for visitors of any make of car so all are welcome. ;D

I am in my P4. The S.E.R.R is always a good event with a good turn out.

I hope it's a good day Roy it's a nice venue I thought about it as the weather looks good but it is a 300 mile round trip and I am out next weekend sadly todays fuel climate limits the amount of events in one month because of the cost

I agree John, I have to make a two hundred mile round trip just to get into civilisation of some sort. I certainly wouldn't change that though, but again because of the fuel prices I didn't go. It's one area I like going to and will miss it. Shall I ask Gordon if us with classic cars can have our fuel at a reduced rate if we are O.A P's.(SOME HOPE)

An excellent day all round. Had long converstions with many people (couldn't put faces to names, were you the photographer Roy?) and found someone local breaking a series 1 P6 so that was a bonus. The SERR is truly blessed as far back as i can remember it hasn't rained. Thanks to all who organised and looking forward to next year.

Some very nice pics Roy together with some superb weather today. Did you manage to give a membership form to the passing deer. We were on a Cream Tea run today and covered just under eighty miles of North Dorset and Southwest Hampshire with lots of good friends. Just out of interest, the last SERR held at Amberley Working Museum (I think it was either 2003 or 2004) we had a run of thunderstorms through the day which rather put a dampener on proceedings.

Yep Dorsetflyer, there are loads more pics where that came from. It was equally as nice driving to and from the Rally through the countryside in a P5, with the wildlife diving for cover as the V8 went past Those Deer were pretty quick, that one was the last of 9 that ran across the road in front of me, I only just managed to get a picture of the last one! Yes partviking I was the one wandering round taking pics of cars arriving etc... I do have several individual car shots as well as they arrived, maybe I should make a list of the registrations in case anyone wants one of their car?

Thanks Roy, I realised after my post that OF COURSE you were the one with the camera....hence the pictures. Doh. I was in FJK 489 the Light Grey over Dark Blue P4 90. Some cars of amazing quality and level of finish, nice to see what it once looked like! Having attended Rover shows for many years I can remember many a rusty car and rotten looking specimen being displayed..not now though. I guess they've all gone to the scrapyard in the sky. Nice in some ways but sad in others, they were always cars of 'character'. I remember a P6BS with door bottoms so detatched from the frame they were held on with gaffer tape!

I remember a P6BS with door bottoms so detatched from the frame they were held on with gaffer tape! Wasn't a Monza Red one with a Mexico Brown bootlid was it? I didn't think anyone would notice because I painted the gaffer tape red.............. It was only a temporary repair. (For about 5 years)

It may well of been though I think it was a White 'S'. Despite it's 'unusual' appearance he claimed it had passed an MOT recently and there was nothing the tester could do to fail it cos the gaffer tape prevented the door bottoms flapping hence no 'jagged' edges which constitute a fail. From my 'yoof' I remember streets littered with rusty and dumped cars, how times have changed! With cars now fetching in excess of £140 for scrap and older models 'highly valued' for their steel (not plastic) content we'll soon have any old classic worth more in scrap then parts. Blimey what a turnaround, remember picking up loads of old P6's years ago for free cos the owner would have to PAY to get it removed. Fortunately I had a neighbour who used to run them in for me after anything of use had been removed...Ahh happy days. ;D
