I've just acquired an Autobooks workshop manual for the P5 3-litre. I've been looking for one for awhile because manuals written by people other than the car's manufacturer frequently provide information that better explains working on a used car. Since no such book exists (to my knowledge) for the P5B, this book will at least cover many aspects of my car. Anyway; inside the book I found the instruction sheet that came with the Lucas Girling service kit. (See front page below) Is this a document that is still readily available? Is a copy of this of any use to anyone? It is a very clearly written, well-illustrated 4-page leaflet covering the servicing of the unit. It is only four A5 pages. (i.e. 2 sides of A4, folded). Very easy to scan and e-mail.

The official Rover mnaual is still the best and club sells them but how one could be sent to you is a problem. The Mk2a is not a very reliable item especially after reconditioning

The official Rover manual is still the best and club sells them. I agree. Sorry Phil; I wasn't very clear. I have the reprinted official manual and V8 suppliment which I purchased from a motor bookshop before I joined the club. I've also since managed to get a good copy of the original manual (full-size pages) on eBay so I don't need to put my glasses on the read some of the diagrams. (I'm still keeping an eye out for an original V8 suppliment). However with other cars at least (Citroen, Peugeot, Range Rover), I've often found it helpful to also have a non-factory manual as they can provide an insight into a problem from a different angle. The Mk2a is not a very reliable item especially after reconditioning So it's of no use then?

I would not waste my money reconditioning a Girling Servo. the Lockhead type 7 is simpler and more reliable
