Not exactly a electrical problem but I am going to buy a set of Wadhams exclusive rear chrome lamp covers.
I am looking for some feedback. I have heard that they dont fit the original bulb holder very well.
any opinions welcome either pm or email if you prefer.
Thanks Colin

Do you mean the Tail Light chrome surrounds Colin? I know a couple of guys who have had them they don't fit as well plus they had to redrill the screw hole where they fix

Hi John,
It is the chrome I really need but heard that it doesn't fit the orignal lamp holder parts, so you either had to modify or buy the JRW item.
My chrome covers are pitted and I have managed to get replacements for the other lamps but dont want to get mine rechromed if they are going to show the pits.
I have heard of a chromer in Carslie that can fill the pitting and replate.
I just dont know what to do with them.

I had mine rechromed Colin and they came back great! it took a lot of Copper plating and mine wern't too bad, I think if you look for a fairly unpitted pair and send them to a good chromer It won't be cheap Colin

I had toyed with the idea of getting them cast in brass as there is a couple of places near me that do that sort of thing. but then they still need plated.
I don't think there is much P5 related that is cheap is there.
I just find £55 plus vat for a pair a lot of money to spend especially if they are not exact copies.
I will speak to DG about them, I have been getting my chrome through him and the stuff has came back lovely.

I thought tye replacments were cast brass - certinaly an excllent run of these was done some years ago as the Mazak alloy will soon pit the chrome even on new ones or freshly chomed ones - just think of it as normal!

Talking of using a brass casting, I wonder if its worth melting down all the old brass rally plaques one collects to create some new rear lamp bezels?
