The Lymington Rotary Club run an annual show in aid of charity and we decided to have a club stand there. Seven cars attended having been in convoy from Bournemouth. There were quite a few open jaws at a rare sight of seven Rover P5 cars all together. We didn't put on a feast again as we did at Breamore house, but it was one of our members birthday so we celebrated with pink and white champagne and a birthday cake plus a cream tea. The show was quite good and well attended with plenty of things to do and stalls to browse round. Hopefully we'll all be back next year.

The cars look great, the grass looks good enough to play bowls on, went to a flying day at old Warden with mates from the p4 club two of us took our p5, i expect you know Shuttleworth at old Warden as you said you worked in Luton in the past.

Yes I know Old Warden well. A couple of my late friends worked there on the original Comet, not the jet one. One of them was on the design team that started it off and sometime later worked on the design and development of the Mosquito. A lot of people don't realise the Mosquito design was hatched in a three bedroom house owned privately about ten miles outside Hatfield but the first flight took place at London Colney alongside the house where Nell Gwyn once lived. You're right about the grass, it was lovely and green and yes it was short enough to play bowls on. An excellent venue.

I will try to watch out for 2009 - portsmouth not being too far for the oldest P5 at Brooklands.
