Did you see in todays paper where one member of a 'chat room' attacked another as he disagreed with his views ? Certainly not a Rover owner.

Really I assume it was physical attack rather than verbal. I am certain Rover a owner would not do nothing other than verbal attacks

Yes, unfortunately it was a physical attack. What a sad world we live in today.

If it's the story I read, the nature of the exchanges were very serious and almost certain to arouse very strong feelings. I have always believed that the anonymous nature of chat boards makes normally decent people say things they wouldn't say face to face. This is because it dehumanises the normal behaviours we use when meeting a perfectly pleasant fellow human. We've had a few strong debates in the past on this forum and I used to get a bit "teasy" about a few things I must admit but I never felt particularly violent to people. Didn't we have someone called "Alan of Leicester" who got banned?

I have to admit I did not read it in depth and now I have forgotten what caused the problem ! (old age!)? As most of us are amateur mechanics we can all learn from others, which has to be a good thing. Now what was that about originality......

Biker eh ?
We don't want your sort round here mate !
I missed this attack story.........How did this actually become physical ? I guess they arranged to meet up, but surely if things had got that nasty over the ether, surely one of them would not want to ?
