Do the alloy beadings come off easily when removing a wing ? The lower one surely will do. Is there a source for new ones ? JRW dont seem to sell these things. Conclusion for me is to absolutely preserve the old one. MGB steel beadings won't be an option, neither will be MGA grey rubbers. But whats up when it breaks.... Found nothing with Search. Mark

Try to preserve them if you can. I don't think they have been available for years & I can't remember the last time I saw one for sale.

Forgot to say, they will be very brittle & hard and partly, if not wholly, dissolved by electrolytic action.

Thanks they came off easily. And they have partly transformed into white salty stuff, too. But it is enough material left to reuse them. I hope at least. I will give them a cleaning bath in citric acid and remount them with Dum Dum or other sealing stuff after painting them. Mark

Wadhams once made a superior stainless version which could be left unpainted if desired. It was held on by several mild steel Zinteced tabs which needed painting to prevent corroison though
