I am trying to upload some pictures of my recent holiday in Scotland, but I can't. When I put 'picture upload' into search it says 'nothing found' For those of us that are not very good with computers these things are a real pain. I know that I have done it before but have forgotten. Would it not be possible to have a 'tutorial' at the top of the page, like the advert for the tyres, to make it easier. They are really good pictures and can be viewed on photobucket !

hi found these ieasy instructions curtisty of glenn Glenns instructions 1) Pick the photo you wish to upload. 2) It is best to resize it first. When you click on on your photo to see what it looks like it should open in "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" 3)Click on the far right symbol which say's when you put your mouse over it.."closes this program and opens the image for editing." 4)Click on the "image" tag and you get the resize table come up. I tend to reduce by 50%.or 80% it depends how small you wish the photo to be. 5) Then click file and "Save as" (I save mine onto the desktop of my computer). 6) This photo now needs to be uploaded on a site that hosts the photo so you can put it onto the Rover Website. Try www.Imageshack.us or "www.photobucket.com" You have to open an account with them but it is simple and free. Let's use www.photobucket.com? or you can chose one of your own? 7)Once you are onto the site and registered, you will see a box called "BROWSE". TIP: I always save my photo's to the desk top when uploading, so I browse to the desktop then click on my photo. 8) I then scroll down to the box that say's "upload" and click on it. 9)The photo then uploads and you should see a large(ish) thumbnail of it. 10) Scroll down to where it says ... DIRECT LINK 11)Highlight the link(left mouse button click) then right mouse click and select copy. ie img.photobucket.com/albums/v699/roverp5b/resized1.jpg12) This can now be uploaded onto the Rover P5B website. 13) On the website click on the section "Photo Gallery of Owners cars" 14)Click on "NEW THREAD" 15)On the post message "SUBJECT" box write in what your subject is about. 16)Click on the "INSERT IMAGE BOX" (4th icon in, 2nd line. The mouse highlights the correct box) 17) you will see . It should look like this.. 18) Click the preview button to see what it looks like, write aswell what you want to say, preview again if you wish, and when you are happy with it "POST MESSAGE"

I agree it should be made a STICKY but I cannot help as I do not have the power Perhaps this section ought to have "Tips" included as well I have also lost patience with the very slow running of this Forum again. So I will not be posting any more until its sorted out (update?) PS Geo - you must have forgot to reset the Search 7 day default to 2000 days and 100 per page a sloads come up with those words

The size you get after a percentage reduction will depend on the original size of the photo, which of course depends on your camera and its settings. If you choose 800 x 600 pixels from the options you will get the optimal size for displaying on this forum on a typical screen. It will be neither too small nor so big as to require scrolling sideways to see it all. When you resize a photo for the forum, make sure that you only resize a copy; not your original. In other words, if you have a good high resolution photo, don't reduce the quality just for the forum - save a copy and reduce it.

I have also lost patience with the very slow running of this Forum again. I thought it was my computer or my connection. Yes it's been woeful since yesterday.

Other than a slow response a few weeks ago it has been working fine for me. Anyone else have the same problems? PS. Phil, as a Moderator on this forum, how will you know if its running slow unless you visit the forum? ;D

Sorry to inform you that I have had no problems with the speed of the site so far , I haven't uploaded any pics here yet but provided the size isn't too large it should be OK.

I did not say I would not be visiting the Forum, just not Posting to it as i have better things to do rather than waiting ages for pages to load. I have no problem witjh Ebay or other Forums

It can be a little slower during busy period, but not 3 minutes UPDATE INFO FROM PROBOARDS: Server Upgrades Some of our servers are running on older hardware, and today we're going to start moving data from some of these older dual-core machines over to brand new quad-core servers. This upgrade should be seamless from a user's perspective. Any large forums may take up to a few minutes to transfer, and during that time we will be displaying our standard "Backup in Progress" message.
The following servers will have their hardware upgraded with this move: 25, 30, 31 (Rover P5 Forum is 31), 32, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 49, 50, 51, 77
This process may take up to a few days to complete for us to get through all of these machines.
