what is the original colour of buckskin, is it the lighter one you often see very similar to the vinyl on the doors, which you see on modern photos on beautifully restored cars, or closer to the very yellowy colour, which i would call buckskin, shown in the brochure on the roverp5b.com website. i had my seat colour matched with a swatch taken from underneath the back of the seat, and it's somewhere between the two. thanks

When new the vinyl would have been the same shade as the leather. If you check the vinyl on the lower parts of the seats that will probably be the correct colour for your car. Leather is a natural material so will not always be the same shade.

Colour matching the original is not easy, the seat vinyl bottoms should be the same as the door cards there are two shades of colour in the vinyl if you study it hard the darker one is too dark the other as Phil says is a medium shade of cream it will be a compromise whatever you decide

thanks for the replies, think i may have gone to dark, the darker viynl colour of the armrests, but as you say its a compromise.

Incidentally PB's never had those interior colours - they were more like early Mk3 3 litres especially the "red" one. I suspect that some stylist/adman has tampered with the colours. I further suspect even the car colours were changed as I am sure I have seen the Bourdeux red car in Admiralty Blue is very similar setting
