... best car ever built? This is the BMW 1602 door mirror installed in my Rover. In this part of Europe, wing mirrors were not the prefered option. The dealer here in Portugal used to install this mirror, which by the way (IMHO...) is beautifull. The seal that hold the mirror desintegrated as soon as I touched it, so on US ebay for $30 i got a new one. Since I wanted to keep it, and a new one is around 220€ (if available), this was the best option. The colour of the mirror is kind of blue(ish...) I´m happy... Miguel

Very nice Miguel. I too am planning to fit non-original but genuine period mirrors on or close to the doors. My wing mirrors aren't Rover mirrors anyway and are too small and circular. It's like trying to watch the traffic behind you through a keyhole on the otherside of the room.
I found a pair of brand new locally made electric after-market mirrors from when my car was made. Nice big chromed ones like yours.
Perhaps you should change the grub-screw to Allen or Torx socket-head, to make it just that bit more difficult to steal.
