;D In the early 70s I knew a lady farmer who had a new P5b coupe ( farming was much more profitable in those days !) It was light blue and the registration number was DPN 25 K After some years she replaced it with a P6. I saw the P5 in Worthing perhaps 15 years ago, it still looked very nice except that the numbers on the rear plate had been changed to read DPN 52 K, I wondered how long it was before anyone realised. The lady died recently and I wondered if the car is known to anyone in the club

These are the dvla details for dpn25k (below). there was no listing for dpn52k.
Someone I know had a spitfire back in the day, he got those stick on number plates and the one onthe back had the numbers round the wrong way.
It was easily 9 months before he noticed.
Colin
The vehicle details for DPN 25K are: Date of Liability 01 11 1995 Date of First Registration 01 05 1972 Year of Manufacture Not Available Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3528CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour BLUE

Arthuy,
How do you find out when a vehicle was made via the DVLA website. I've just spent an age on it and can't find the info anywhere. Can you help? By all means send me an e-mail direct (members info) if you want.

Hi Richard, The link I have is www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/index.jspWhen you go on to it choose vehicle enquiry. It then prompts you for details and registration number. you need to know the make and number so if you know the reg but it was transfered to another vehicle and you don't know which type then it comes back black. you could always guess. I have tried that! have you seen how many makes are listed! Possibly though there are certain cars that number plate swappers use to go with their ego like BMW's so its unlikely to be a Lada or even Ford but it could be on retention anyway.
