Haven't posted so far because I'm not sure I've got anything sensible to say at the moment.
Am without a P5 at present (first one was a P5B coupe) and now dreaming of my next one. When it happens, no doubt I'll be having to ask loads of questions of you knowledgeable lot.
Cheers George
PS That's 268 to go...

I hope you get one soon - do not buy the first one you see though!
Have a good read of the topics on here and join the club - cars for sale crop up regularly but beware "minor" rust. With a P5 there is no such thing!
What are you going for 6 or 8 cylinders - saloon or coupe? The 6 saloon auto is probably the least desired but its a really nice car if you like sedate old fashioned comfortable and silent driving

I agree with Phil. I am in the process of revamping my site and one of the things I am posting is a "Buyers Guide" I have the bodywork covered but can anyone donate some mechanical points to watch out for??

Thanks for that. I also could do with a list of problem areas mechanically. I honestly can't think of any serious points that come to mind.

Thanks for the welcome. These cars do get under your skin, don't they? Even though my first and only one was in my ownership for only about a year (which included six months off the road), I know I need (!) another one soon. Should be able to do it in about six months time.
Tempted by a six cylinder coupe next time. I don't need the grunt/speed, and I sense one might get a better condition car for the money than a V8 (or am I barking up the wrong tree?)
Cheers
George

The straight sixes are better built but of course they are older - personally I think the Coupe 6 is the best. I have one - auto and they also come with 4 speed + overdrive. I also have a V8 saloon for high speed touring - all V8's are auto
