Yes I thought it was familiar - did it sell last time? Is it worth that much?

I'm not overly impressed and think it's been overdescribed Look at the gaps, the unpainted sill, the scuttle area, missing door rubbers and worst of all that "carpet" on the transmission tunnel !! In my view, the car just isn't right, it's been messed around with but some great shots of the number plate!!

Yes I agree - the rear plate looks quite new but does show how it should be although its pressed out. The front plate is perspex!

Ooooooh you lot are so nasty !
Look at the door gap next to the lower wing, thats had a repair panel and not been finished well enough IMO.
Restored interior ?.........look at the wrinkly vinyl and seat cushions, not to mention the carpet.
It must have been traded in against something else ?
Is it worth it ? It MIGHT be worth the starting price, or even higher. Until you look at it, its impossible to say, although of course, a saloon is worth more than a coupe, but it certainly ain't worth £12 grand

Smallfry, first time I've seen any one figure that a saloon P5B was worth more than a Coupe! Nearly all the price guides I've seen state the opposite, by about £1500 to £2000. I've put my Coupe up for sale and (Having seen the pictures of the above saloon) I'm wondering if mine's too cheap? Cheers Adrian

I agree with Freddy - which is fortunate for him - the V8 Coupe is the most sought after - not sure why but it does command a premium across the board

It's quite suprising - I sold my P5b coupe earlier this year, not a concours car but in quite nice condition - chrome and interior excellent - body no major corrosion, nice shiney paintwork - engine a little tired but still drove ok - I thought that it would take a long time to sell but it was snapped up straight away, and lots of people after it. - I wish I had asked more!

I had a message sent via e bay as I have my sill trims up for sale. I have to add I was very proud to recieve it as it was ALL the way from the USA!! It read ........... "Dear Sir. I do not mean to be rude, but I am an englishman living in the states and my father drove a Rover P5B. I was wondering if you would ever consider selling your beauty or if you would know of any sellers or contacts in England I could get in contact with. I thank you for your time. I dutifully replied with any assistance I could offer, but I am keeping the old girl.

I agree with Smallfry (who may just have been pulling your legs!) Coupes may fetch more cash but that's not the same as "being worth more". Unless youv'e got a very low garage door way ,I just can't see why folk go for them. It's not worth the trouble of taking your top hat off every time you get in !

If you buy a P5b saloon you get much better value for money than buying a coupe. Mike

I can tell you that the car definately was NOT worth the money. I know a thing or two about that car, it's just been messed about with too much!!!
