P4 60/75's with overdrives and the 105Rhas 4.7 ratio. I understand Series LR's may fit but I do not know for sure these have 4.7 too

First drive today!! took her to my local garage and left it for MOT on Monday, the engine as plenty power, 60 on the clock and when you put your foot down it sends you back into the seat. But it seemed to be reeving to high, but the overdrive wasn't working with this fixed it should make it much better. The car is a 1965 Mk2a auto reg. no. CLJ 362 C came from the Bournemouth area a few month ago with a duff engine anyone know any history about this car.The body is good have done no work on it yet only give it a good polish, the underneath only needed 4 small plates welding to the innersills. Went through the brake's and steering all were good. When I get the MOT will tax her and use every day and to a ruining restoration ( I hope)

Hi My diesel P5 is now taxed & tested and in daily use, done over 300 miles, this includes a 140 mile round trip to the coast on Sunday, with no mishaps!! Will post some photo's later if anyone is interested, I made another mistake!! she is a Mk2c not a Mk2a. So starts the RUNNING restoration.

How does it handle? Is it quiet to to drive - I know of a couple of P5B's that had conversions years ago and once the axle ratio was sorted drivability was restored but quiteness certainly was not.
These being V8's used the BW35 box which was far from satisfactory but the DG box may be better suited especially with its direct drive top - will it pull away in 2nd as a 3 litre auto should?

Hi, The ride, handling, steering & braking seem fine. When I get the wheels & Tyres sorted I will fit new shockers of the P5B as the diesel engine is around the same weight as the V8, it also may need lowering a touch. It is that quiet that you can here the click tick!!! well not really, but you can hold a conversation at 65 mph with out SHOUTING and there are no carpets in as yet. The gearbox is not the BW one, it is the one fitted to the Nissan engine 3 speed with a proper o/d with a final drive of 0.686, this works very well. Will try to post some pic,s, do I need to start a different topic?
