I've finally decided that it's time to move from MS Internet Explorer to something else. (I know, I know).
So I've just installed Firefox and set it up. When doing a few checks to make sure that all my IE settings etc. had been imported properly, I opened this forum from my saved shortcut.
It's fast, isn't it!
Anyway, whereas before I had the well-known little "e" icon I now have a cute little fox icon. It occurred to me that I'd much rather have a cute little P5 icon.
How about one of you IT boffins out there building a little icon for us that we can download? Perhaps you could use the 3/4 front view of Freddy's car as the starting point as it stands alone against a white background with no surroundings or scenery to remove before reducing and rebuilding the image.
Just a thought. Any takers?

I used Firefox for quite a while too (and really liked it), only going back to Safari (Mac user, so was always able to avoid IE!) when Apple pinched all of Firefox's ideas and incorporated them into Safari!

I also installed Firefox. IE is too slow and lately it had some security problems. I´m happy with FF but the Favorites tab is not as ready available as the one in IE. Can I do something to change it for a more quick acess?

Miguel
For favourites, press Ctrl & B.
I agree it is not so straighfroward as IE, as FF uses the 'Bookmarks' system.

Norvin,
I'm not sure which bit you're puzzled about, so I'll start at the beginning. Please excuse me if you know some of it.
Any shortcut to a website, folder, or part of Windows on your computer has a little identifying icon.
For example ...
On your desktop (main Windows screen) you have shortcut icons to things such as My Documents, My Computer, the Internet, the Recycle Bin, and perhaps some programmes such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Each of these is a little picture that helps identify it. My Documents is a little manilla folder, My Computer is a little monitor, the Recycle Bin is a little rubbish bin, Word is a little blue "W" in a square, and so on.
If you are using Internet Explorer (IE) its icon is a small "e" with a sort of orbit swirl around it. If you are using Firefox instead of IE, its icon is a small red fox sort of hugging the Earth.
If you right click with your mouse on any of these icons, a menu will pop up. Use the left mouse button to click on "Properties" at the bottom of this menu and another window will open. In this new window is a button giving you the option to change icons. If pressed, this button opens yet another menu allowing you to browse your computer and select a different icon stored somewhere on your machine.
These icons are nothing more than tiny little images and there is software around (and people with the skill to use it) that can be used to create an icon. In fact there is a very good chance that the automatic advertising banner near the top of the forum has already detected that we are discussing icons and will have inserted an advertisement for a website trying to flog us some. (It has on mine).
Therefore, if a forum member has the skill and software they could produce an icon that is a tiny little picture of a P5. If you then had this e-mailed to you and you saved it on your computer, you could then change the icon that you use to open this forum (probably the IE "e" symbol) to a little P5.
I just thought that it might be nice if someone out there could provide one for us.

It would be nice to have a P5OC auto-detect icon as all the other Rover Forums have one - no idea how to make one though

Thanks Warwick for taking so much time to explain it all. Yes I can understand what you want to do, it would be great if we had a P5 to click on for the forum. many thanks Warwick. Norvin.
