I've accumulated a number of front and rear coupe screens over the years and as a result they are taking up space that I need. Anyone interested at a tenner each?
I've got 3 litre and V8 ones, the difference being the rear heater as far as I know.

The sole difference is the rear heated screen some 3 Litres had the fine wire wire type (the ultra hitec version of today for windscreens) as optional extra whereas early V8's had the same type as standard Then the cheaper painted on "modern" version appeared but as all types these are of dubious reliability anyway through aging whichvever type is used then any will fit any Coupe

You mean all V8s should have heated rear windows? Mine doesn't. What does that mean?

Actually it was an optional extra though very few UK ones especailly Coupes did not have
Perhaps most EXPORT ones did not have them. Has it got the gear console switch fitted?

No, only the foglight switch. Perhaps you're right. Rover probably felt that since they have endless summer in Orstralia, and only ever drive to the beach anyway, why would they need a demister. Although that logic doesn't fit with the retention of those mammoth face-level fresh air vents at the ends of the dashboard.

Quite a neat installation - pity about the untidy wiring on the parcel shelf - has all the vynil been changed? The parcel shelf covering seems a little slack and creased or is that due to the persistent hot weather which is so rare in the UK? The colour seems off shade too

Thanks Roy. Can you imagine how far it would get before someone dropped it?
Phil, the vinyl was replaced about 8 or so years ago I believe. The creasing on the padded edge of the parcel shelf is due to the foam having collapsed in places, so it needs repadding.
The loose wiring mess was caused by me. The photo was taken last year when I was looking for the fault causing the temp gauge to run high. In the process of taking out the faulty voltage stabilizer I decided to drag out all the wires associated with the radio and electric aerial that was fitted. The plan is to eventually rewire the whole car, starting with the instruments.

Warwick, I think I've got one of those knee pads in my loft in the correct colour and not saggy at all. Want it for the postage?

Thanks Roy. Nice of you to offer. But it isn't quite as bad as the photo suggests. The vinyl is in good condition as it has been replaced by the previous owner, and it does match the rest of the vinyl and leather. It must be a trick of the light or the camera.
I've got a mate in the furniture-making game who can get me the right foam, so it's only a minor job. But thanks for thinking of me.

The foam on V8's is a harder moulded affair - on the 3 Litres its far softer and may just be glued on. Both cover a hard steel flat U section
