Hello All Hope we are all getting over Christmas and getting ready for new years eve? I got a call from dad last night to tell me a friend of his had a P5B coupe in his workshop if i wanted to have a look. As you do i went over and had a look.... I took some pictures and didn't know if it was a members car?

Looks very smart apart from the very ugly towbar - the better ones were concealed behind the bumper although holes have to be drilled in the bumper. Badges look good too - some sort of Viking ship badge - also bolted on!
Note the plain mild steel exhaust pipes

Pat, sorry only took them two. Phil, i agree the tow bar is ugly but you have to go a long way to make one of these cars look bad they are just sooooooo nice. This car has only do 46 or 48,000 miles so is clean but i think the re-paint may have something to do with it. Didn't take much notice of the badge all i remember is it says "Middlesex" at the bottom. Oh and it only has a stainless middle section, downpipe and back box is mild steel Does anyone know the car? ??

The V badge was indeed for the Guild of Veteran Motorist members of which I am one. You get a year sticker for each year driving on renewal - its now called GEM Motoring Assist (it covers breakdowns as well for an additional fee) and has a new ordinary looking badge - the old V badges turn up on ebay etc at incredible prices - they only cost £4.

There is possibly one person who might know the answer, but unfortunately he doesn't use this site as far as I am aware.
In any case, as members tend to change their cars from time to time, how many of you would keep the club records of members cars up to date by updating the information?

I think ive seen this car a few times in the Walton Upon Thames area being driven by a smartly dressed "veteran" gentleman. Never have i had the chance to speak to him and i dont think he's a club member. Nice car (same as mine ) but in a lot better condition, shiny shiny.....................
Big Kev.

Smallfry - actually its the driver and it goes on driving experience rather than physical age
