Whilst researching some stuff on the net I came across this amazingly well priced Electronic Ignition Kit at a hefty $18.95.If you can use a small soldering iron it would be ideal, as the points in the distributor are retained. In the event of failure just disconnect the 'module'. Here is the link. www.apogeekits.com/electronic_ignition.htm...but there's more. The following link refers to a Chrysler module but is the same as those found on Mitsubushi Lancers of the early 1980s. You can use this module (and it's ballast resistor and coil) to drive a Rover 'Hall effect' distributor. www.gofastforless.com/ignition/electronic.htm(... Hey you guys are quick I've barely finished typing)

At least it would definitely help to safe old but good contact breakers. Replacement new ones have become of a very poor quality. Cams are wearing, springs are weakening, too soon. That is a reason many people I know have changed to electronics. Mark
