My P5b amp-meter has started to 'flicker' at about one blip a second, after about ten miles , the ignition light joins in, bit worried about a long distance journey, I've checked all connections. Any ideas anyone

Difficult to say that's it but I would check the Alternator the 3AW Relay and the Control 4TR basically it's a process of elimination as the car is running ok and you have done the basic checks

Mine was the same but when some of the wiring shorted out and melted I had to make up some new earth wires as they had melted around the 4TR and the relay, which cured the flick so it might pay you to check the earth wiring.
