Warwick - coming back to the LPG-question you raised, for the moment I just can say, that it is for fuel and LPG. Concerning the mixers I will have to take a look under the bonnet, which I will do for you as soon as I am back in Berlin;-). As far as I know, she runs on LPG for many years already, which is quite common in the Netherlands (where I bought her).

Here in Holland it will be difficult to find a p5b or other car with the Rover V8 fitted that doesn't run on Lpg. The RV8 runs very well on LPG and we pay 0,65 euro for LPG compared to 1,50 euro for petrol. I would guess that more then 90 percent of the P 5b with a valid MOT run or LPG. The cars are Actually dual fuel as these can still run on petrol

Thanks P5Bambassador. I'm curious to see what is used on the standard engine in Europe.
Peter, they certainly are well suited to LPG. My '87 EFI Range Rover has been running on LPG almost exclusively since 2008. It's now done 420,000km, almost half of that on LPG. Engine still runs like new. Oil is still clear when drained. The EFI system is now showing its age and leaking, so I'll be removing it soon. The timing has now been changed for gas only, so I've got more power. I also have a Blos mixer to fit soon. My first LPG car was in the early '80s. It's been available here since the 1960s and since then most taxis have run on it.

FRANCE
Hi Warwick, Count me in.I am in Lower Normandy France. I have the Mexico brown/ almond roof, reg RPC 750L. After recent investigations there was only 2 coupes done in my colour scheme, the other one which was done in 1972 is off the radar and has been for a long time. However maybe it just might turn up !!!, I have owned this car since 1978.

WOW! Thx Neil! What a beauty she is. Indeed, I had never seen those coulors. Amazing. She looks so good! Is the couloring of the windows also original? Or did you laminate them?

thanks for your comments, the tint is original, and the colour scheme is one of two which were produced in 1972 and mine in 1973. neil

Hi Warwick,
I have just bought a 1973 P5B Coupé from Ireland and am in the process of importing it to Southern France, just North East of Toulouse.
I grew up with these cars, my father having a P5 Mk1 and later a Mk 11 in the early 60's. I have always loved them as it was my job to keep them clean. I am now delighted to own one finally, just got to get though the trial of registration here, but am on the case!
I am a new member of the forum and hope soon to join the club. Thanks already for the helpful info from some of your members, particularly that concerning the age old SS Bumper saga! I look forward to perhaps contacting other French owners.
Regards Tarnowl

Thank you David, but here in France I have to get a Certificate de Collection from the FFVE, that verifies the value and specification and registers the car in a Classic or Collectable category. This certificate gives the car certain allowances as far as Contole Technique tests go and it is only after this that the car can be given a Carte Gris, or registration document and number. This process can take several months to complete, that is if you have all the necessary info that they need!
Tarnowl.

I had quite a difference experience when I purchased my Mk1 in Sardinia, Italy and drove it back to UK on existing plates - both countries being within the EU. I had a valid Italian road worthiness certificate (MoT in uk) and drove on and off the ferries without hindrance. After re-commissioning and a fresh MoT the DVLA had to inspect it to verify chassis details etc and awarded an age-related registration number. After Brexit - who knows?
