My P5 MK11c has the double ended electric fuel pump. When I switch it from the main to the reserve the pump makes a continuous clicking noise. Is this likely to be a problem with the points?

With engine off it should every 15-20secs at most with it idling perhaps 5-10. Float needle either leaking in carb or fuel line leaks or intake leaks on unions allowing air in.
Does both main & reesrve behave the same?

No the main is quiet apart from the occasional tick as you describe. The reserve however, makes the constant high frequency ticking

Diaphragm still/badly adjusted air leak in intake pipe or union or dirty burnt contact points
