Recent MoT Advisory states: 003/004 - Front suspension arms have slight play in ball joints. However looking at the exploded diagram (Parts book p122) a part is not obvious. It has been suggested that these arms might be adjustable. Does anyone have experience if this?

Yours will (or should) have the early greasable types - this should stop them being slack - they may nip up if staking on end cap can be released without damage - there is a hexagon to fit a tight socket on it but do not try to undo without removing the staking as it will damaged the soft cap (Wadhams sell them I think).
If you are going to this trouble you may as well dismantle inspect and clean - parts are not generally available though
I really think though MOT inspector is covering his back they can on go for years like this if looked after - but see for yourself
