Today I set about what I thought would be a straightforward job in getting the headlights and sidelights working on my P5 (1963 Mk IIa 3-Litre Saloon, LHD, positive ground). Unfortunately, it appears that someone at some time rewired the lighting circuit, at least behind the dash binnacle, and with non-standard wire colors. I'm trying to make sense of the wiring diagram to see how things should be, but between the unorthodox changes and the nest of wires back there, I'm having a hard time. There don't seem to be enough wires connected to the main headlight switch, either.
Would someone be willing to take and send pictures of the headlight switch (top right) and dimmer switch (top left) wiring?
Thanks,
Gordon.

Not sure that a picture would be much help - the wiring is basically simple - the only slight complication is the parking light circuit and panel special switch - you are aware that the console switch is the main switch with the column switch for side or heads and the floor switch for main (high) beam/ dip (low) beam?
I can send you a Pdf in colour of the P5B diagram which is the same as regards the switching

Good idea - but I only moderate posts and do my own not maintain the forum so perhaps DD can comment.
Wiring diagrams are for P5OC members only - this was the condition of the person who took a lot of time drawing them from the awful Rover/BLMC versions. The numerous errors have also been corrected which BL never bothered to as no money left
At present members email me and I send it back by return - either the colour version or the large print line drawing one for colour challenged indivuals

Just read this, so sorry for the late reply.
I would suggest using 'The Rover Vault of Knowledge' in the 'Members Only' area. Fortunately, it is very easy for members to upload their PDFs etc. so I cannot see it being a problem.
