Getting there Vince nice work and will look even better when painted Is it Engine turned finish you are trying to replicate Vince? A good old fashioned Crackle finish would look good?

Hi John & Glenn. I was looking for a contrast to highlight the instrument binnacle but not too much. I purchased a nice piece of veneer some time ago but couldn't really see the point (been there done that) The dash for my taste would be too conservative and dark in appearance. The engine turned finish is a good reference but is a lot of hard work for the real McCoy. I found the covering material on the net at this site www.tiptopsigns.com/Self-Adhesive-Vinyl-p-1-c-20.htmlIt's a self-adhesive backed 'Carbon-fibre look/Aluminium' material (like a very thin foil) and is perfect for my requirements. It has a smooth finish and is easily cleaned. I did sweat alot applying it though, * The inspiration for the dash binnacle is my P5 Coupe! Here's another link to one of their 'fake' Wood Grain veneers that may benefit some restorers. www.tiptopsigns.com/Wood-Grain-Wrap-Vinyl-p-1-c-114.html
