It does have to be all or nothing. If the front suspension is modernised and uprated then the rear will also have to be rebuilt to cope with the better handling. Very few of us have the considerable engineering skills/facilities/ inclination to take on this type of work but I have the greatest admiration for those who do try it. I don't know how these cars handled when new but with decent tyres/shockers/springs and a a fairly tight front end, the handling seems pretty good for a car of its designed purpose. As John says, it is an old car with old fashioned characteristics and that's why we own them I suppose

Great work here, keep pictures coming. Will this allow the front to sit lower than with the torsion bar setup?
Cheers Tim

Hi boy's had bad day today BLOODY fork lift!! anyway as you can see Xmember bolted in got motor back in to mark out checkout for sump have got plan for engine mounts but nothing to see yet . Have been told by jag expert that taking 80mm out of rack will compremise turn circle ,Think I might look at commodore {opal} or what ever they are The reason for conversion better ride{ Aussie roads},handling,{Aussie roads}, parts lots of jags not to many rovers and the best geometry I have seen in a factory front end, and and! easy to convert to air bag. Will put pic of car on tomorrow sorry I allmost forget what body is, or goes on top of some of the jobs{fun}I do{have}I dont know if its porn but I get stiff sometimes but thats probably because I'm allmost 50 never thought I'd get into this computor stuff but this is fun back tomorrow take care.

Hello Nodsmods,
Its not something i would consider because i like the standard ride of a P5B but i have great respect for your work!!! Its really a piece of art and i believe in a relativ short timeframe. I did a V8 conversion on an MGB but this is clearly a different conversion.
regards
Peter

Hi boy's, crossplies you are right if you improve front you have to improve rear this car has borgworner disk brake diff with custom leaf springs and swing shackles{not my falt}I prefer 4 link either triangulated or paralal with panard or wots link and coil over shocks easy tune easy service.Tim with reset coil spring front and leaf rear with lowering blocks I reckon it I could get it below legal ground clearance{100mm}inAUST with air bags {scrape sills}Thanks Peter 30 years of practice and almost anal attention to detail helps.I love stiken metal together
