Hard to believe that it's been 2 years Dave. I just checked. I would have guessed 12 months.
That's an unusually large fan you've got behind the radiator - for the UK that is. I'm used to seeing Kenlowes. That's about the size of the fan I have but clearance between the fan motor and the water pump hub looks like it could be quite tight on mine, even with the shaft shortened as much as possible.
Do you remember any of the details? How much clearance did you achieve?

It was a Pacet Fan and was on the grill side of the radiator.No clearence issues really.It worked really well.

I don't know why I got the impression it was behind the radiator. I've just looked at the photos again. I must have been half asleep when I asked the question.
No room behind the grille on mine as it has an air-con condensor in front of the radiator.
