Checking the circuit ,to find why the rev counter is a bit erratic ,the feed for the coil ballast resistor goes through the tachometer,as the feed is from the ign switch then through the tach.to the resistor.If I remove one of the leads from the tach. I would have thought there would be no feed to the coil,but the engine still runs.Am I missing something

No - the tacho relies on induction pulses through it - the coil is separetely fed - see

My coupe rev counter had been hopelessly erratic in spite of attempting to adjust it by the setting screw on the back. I just sent it to Nissonger instrument repair in the US and for a flat fee of $175 it works perfectly. Very pleased!?
