Hi all
I am looking for a set of period alloys to fit my rover p5b coupe. Has anybody any advice of different makes models of cars wheels that would fit - size and stud pattern or know where any are aviable?

The Jensen GKN alloys will fit but you need to be aware of the cost of the different nuts needed to secure them as the standard Rover nuts are not suitable.
I have a set of GKN alloys ready to fit when I put my car back on the road

If i were to imagine that there are no such thing as rostyles (heaven forbid) and found my p5b coupe on a stack of bricks (not unlikely where i live) i would be trying to find a set of cragar 5 spokes that fitted!

Some mini lite styled wheels sold on eBay a while ago for p5/p6
Jeep wheels often listed here but do a search coz someone did list a whole load of cars with the same pcd.
My brother has Sd1 wheels on his early p6 so I assume they would fit p5?

There was a Silver Birch P5B Coupe at the NEC with Minilites on back in 2009, I took several photos of it - will dig them out tomorrow.... off to work now unfortunately! At first glance I thought it looked 'wrong' but looking back at the photos I think it looks rather meaty with them on.

I've got Jensen alloys on my saloon, mainly because I like the look, but also because it was a cheaper option than trying to find a decent set of rostyles. I managed a accumulate a set by buying odd rims on EBay. It then cost me £65 per rim to have the set renovated (they came back looking like new). Sets of wheel nuts are available from Martin Robey @ about £125. You have to be careful though about not over tightening the nuts because the threads can strip out!

Stud pattern 5x5.,Better off searching all cars with that pdc, surprising how many out there. Then see if the offset will work.

Not the best pic, but here's that Silver Birch Coupe with the Minilites on at the NEC... it was for sale at the time and dealer Mike Cordon Cars in Derby ended up buying it before putting Rostyles back on and selling it on again...

Thanks to Warwick and p5nij for posting the photos of the P5s with MiniLites; I've always been curious as to what they'd look like, now I know - and I think they suit the car, very 'period'.

Actually Tony - I cheated a bit. They're Superlites not Minilites; a modern aluminium alloy lookalike (almost). Minilites were "mag" wheels ... magnesium alloy.

I must say that I think some of these wheels do not seem suitable for these cars.

Thanks for that piece of info Colin. I know exactly how much work is involved in this sort of task as I'm currently doing the 'coupe' thing to my V8 powered ZB Magnette. You can see that the front doors have been lengthened on this (photoshop) sedan which means that both the B pillar has been moved back and the rear door sectioned...lots of work in the 'real' world. I also really like the wheels with spinners and would like to know what they are? ~ Vince One other aspect of this vehicle that initially caught my eye was the lowered front end. This is very difficult to do if the standard Rover front suspension is retained. You can get it down, but not that far without the bump rubbers sitting on the bottom suspension arm. Even then it won't be as low as illustrated in the picture.

Is this real or another photoshop exercise? Getting a P5 this low requires a lot of mechanical skill and modification and is not possible with the original front suspension.

oi oi, enigmas...Its a photoshop exercise.
I will be changing the front clip and rear axle set up but won't be fitting wheels quite this big or riding the car quite that low...Just a bit of fun really.
Looks the business tho hey ?

Would really appreciate details of any mods people are doing to be sent to me so I can include details in the new modified article section of the club mag. Sadly due to personal commitments I missed the next magazine but will have something in the following one. Since the lauch of the modified club email address I have had exactly ZERO emails with details of peoples mods so it would be really good to share these ideas and practical experiences with the rest of the membership. Get your car in the mag! E: modified@ roverp5club.org.ukGetting back to 'coup' ing. My convertible has been converted to 2 door but I need to lengthen the doors, move the piller back and modify the rear door shut section. Reckon I'm going to need some Dutch courage before the angle grinder comes out! (but not too much )
