Author: Chris Discombe- Torquay Date: 12/21/2004 4:14 am EDT Hello and merry xmas to all. My question at this time is about the lock barrels in the front doors of a p5b. The drivers door is becoming increasingly difficult to open due to the lock barrel being very worn. Has anybody successfully repaired one before and could give me guidance as to how to . Or does anyone know where i can purchase good second hand ones or even better new ones. Regards Chris Discombe

JRW does (or did anyway) high security inserts. The standard lock barrels can be turned with a screwdriver iwhen they are worn!

You do not mention whether its a saloon or coupe as the locks are totally different.
I covered this for the saloon on the old Board - if you have a saloon I will search and locate it. Both types are repairable though with a matter of ingenuity and nw/secondhand parts

That sounds like my old Tranny, any old key you had in your pocket would open the doors and turn the ignition on let alone a scewdriver.
