Tell us more about this car, Andy. It's an unique example, I mean is it the only one fitted with the rear "tables" and rear armrests wood Or is it something you can ordered from a company aftermarket ? I always thought that those rear "tables" were missing on the P5s As this is a reply to a previous post, I'm counting on this one not strictly contravening the one-per-day rules of the thread. If so, hopefully no-one will object too strenuously. Not sure if anyone else did this but here are some more pictures of that car. The picnic tables are the type found in the 1300 VDP Princess & are relatively easy to fit. I did so in our car the best part of twenty years ago. ISTR, the owner at the time wanted something a little different & commisioned the work as a one-off.

Lovely job. Picnic tables definately should have been fitted when new, these ones look as if they were.

Ah, I was going to suggest a mod moving it if the rules were to be kept intact. I see I didn't need to. I also always thought picnic tables would have been a worthy additon & wondered why Rover never did, bar the rather inadequate plastic item in the split seats. As I have a rear bench so don't even have that, I did the job quite early in my ownership. The VDP tables are straight-forward to fit & do indeed look as if they were factory fitted with very little effort.

I've no idea as it's not my car. I would imagine they are somehow adapted from a modern Rover but really couldn't say how.

Thank you Andy. May be too much wood for my taste but the picnic tables are a really nice modification (without looking like a modification) and if it's easy to fix..... The problem is to source VDP ones. I find that the location of the radio is clever too
