Looks like someone has hacked into the PM email notification system.
Think before you respond to an email saying you have a personal forum message.

Thanks Warwick.
I have received a PM for others as well. Apologies folks, in the old system we could check more thoroughly but the new one does not give us the same options.
We do try and stop them and are usually successful, but every now and then the 'New member' can be a bit sneaky!
As you were.

Might be the time to change ALL your passwords Warwick.

It's okay Dean, I saw it for what it was straightaway. I didn't click on any of the links. I think most people would have been suspicious of the lame message from a stranger. I just wanted to make sure nobody responded without paying attention and noticing how unlikely it was to be real. Could be an easy mistake to make if you were viewing on your phone and slightly distracted, for example.
David, So it was just someone who joined and then used the PM system. I assumed that the system had been hacked from outside. Not quite so serious then.

Yesterday I found strange that a female new member wants to show me her pictures (or pictures of her) because she says she likes my pictures!!

David Now that new members are on probation, how do we interact with them whilst they are in 'quarantine' for their first five posts?

Hi Peter Once their post has been checked the plan is to then move that post to the correct area, where the members can reply. More work for us Moderators, but hopefully less unsolicited PMs for all. That is the plan, whether it will work is another question all together.

Thanks David, I was worried new members would be isolated. With appreciation for the sterling work you do on our behalf.

Not a problem Peter.
After a chat with John, we have adjusted it so all can view all the sections and post, but new members can only post in the 'new members section' until they have reached 6 posts. A bit of a palava but hey ho!
Hope the true new members understand why we have to do this.
