Hi..... Thankyou for the welcome
She is a 3.0 auto saloon in blue tbh not sure much about her until I get her tomorrow but I'm sure I will need bits and bobs to tidy her up ....
pictures are to follow ...promise
FIRST QUESTION: these are pretty solid cars right? I understand there old queens but anything I should look out for with my model inparticular!!!

Solidly built but rare now as really full of serious rust traps! Water leaks and rusts everywhere - try a magnet. See P5OC Website. Inner rear wings disappear. Loads of pics on search including mine where they rust.
Make sure the 3 speed autobox has correct ATF level - dipstick is under transmission hump. It starts in 2nd unless floored OR column switch is down which acts a a gear hold switch like "Sports" mode on modern cars. Steering is well balanced and not overlight
Engine should start dead easily and be almost silent and smooth on idle and will pull away smoothly but slightly sedately up to a top speed of 100mph+ Subdued engine but wind noise especially if door/window seals hardened
Understeer will be terrible on X plies and dangerous in the wet if cornering fast but quite stable on good radials in all weathers/speeds
MPG in winter sub 18!

No - start driving ie moving forward in D - the 3 speed gearbox starts in 2nd unless you make it use first for a slightly brisker get away which may spin tyres but unlikely
Start engine in Park or Neutral - starter motor should not turn in any gear. No different to modern cars except shift pattern slightly different and is on column of course
Suggest locate and read Handbook or all posts on Forum
Lift up hump carpet and big rubber grommet on passenger side - engine idling in D with handbrake tight on - I would drop it into Park and check level quickly as P5 handbrakes are not good if brake system is poorly/incorrectly serviced
Fluid should be RED.
Good luck
