Heritage certificate states that it went to Edwards Garages Limited in Camarthen. I have only seen evidence of one other vdp, and the extras on that were identical to this one.

Yes I have seen another V-P P5B although whether that was genuine I do not know either. It was certainly in far better condition than this one was before it was restored and did have more "extras". This was at the P5OC National in 2005 at Gaydon. Perhaps someone else can give more detail.
If Richard Geil had owned this car for 30 years I would think he should know more history after all he is also a longstanding P5 "expert"
I suppose, as the Ebay ad says, it should be looked at as a good restoration rather than a dubious V-P conversion which cannot be verified. It will certainly be a talking point now

So were Edwards Garages just the Retailer? VP normaly have things like rear trays, Walnut Veneer etc and correct decal/badges for the year I would have thought? expecialy bearing in mind the status of the Rover in 1960's / early 70's

The ebay item is only for a photograph. Don't know why the bidding is already at £205.00 ... for just a photo.

???I RECENTLY ADVERTISED MY ROVER P5B XYW188 IN EBAY .I ADVERTISED A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE CAR ,WITH THE HOPE I COULD GET SOME INFORMATION REGARDING THE FACT THAT IT WAS BADGED UP VANDEN PLAS. IT DID INDEED BRING MANY EMAILS IN ,AND IT APPEARS THAT THIS CAR IS WELL KNOWN IN THE CLUB. IT IS FAIRLY OBVIOUS THAT THE MAJORITY OF MEMBERS FEEL THAT THIS IS NOT A TRUE VP,WITH JUST REASON.THE CAR HAS GONE THROUGH A HUGH RESTORATION AND IS NEARING COMPLETION,AND WHEN I COMPLETE THE CAR AND PLACE IT FOR SALE I WISH THE CAR TO BE CORRECT. THEREFORE LISTNING TO THE MEMBERS WHO HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE THAN I HAVE,ALL OF THE VP BADGING IS BEING REMOVED AND THE CAR WHEN UP FOR SALE WILL BE ADVERTISED AS A P5B.I WOULD NOT WISH TO MISLEAD ANYONE, (AS I WAS ) AFTER ALL THE TIME AND MONEY I HAVE SPENT ON THE CAR.THANK YOU AGAIN TO THOSE WHO MADE THEIR FEELINGS KNOWN TO ME. Well done Len for the restoration of your P5b. I think you should be commended for all your efforts during this restoration. To remove the VdP items is what I would do too.
Well done

If I was the current owner I would complete a fee paying enquiry with the dvla which only cost £5. This will give you all the available registration documents.

Make sure its got good sill trims on and the sills are in satin-black where they are meant to be. The coachlines have also to be in the correct thickness and positions as must the .
